Sprinkler System Installation & Repair in Moses Lake, WA

Moses Lake summers are hot and dry, and watering with city water comes with rules: set watering days, no daytime watering and a backflow assembly on every sprinkler system. We install, repair, start up and winterize systems in Moses Lake with those rules in mind.

We're based just up the road in Ephrata, and the systems we install come with a 2-year warranty.

Irrigation in Moses Lake: what to know

  • A backflow assembly on every system

Moses Lake requires a double check valve assembly on any lawn or landscape irrigation system, residential or commercial, to keep yard water out of the city's drinking water. Systems that add fertilizer or chemicals need a reduced pressure backflow assembly instead.

  • Tested every year

Each backflow assembly has to be tested by a Washington-certified tester after it's installed and once a year after that, and new installations are inspected by the city's cross-connection specialist. It's worth planning for the yearly test when you budget for a new system.

  • Programmed for your watering days

Odd-numbered addresses may water on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, even-numbered addresses on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, and nobody waters on Mondays or between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. A controller set to your days, early in the morning or in the evening, keeps the lawn green and you within the rules.

FAQ

Irrigation in Moses Lake: common questions

What happens if my sprinklers run on the wrong day?

Moses Lake gives a written warning for a first offense; repeat offenses bring civil penalties under the city code. Setting the controller correctly once is the easiest way to avoid both.

Does the city need to approve a backflow assembly before it goes in?

Yes. The code requires plans to be submitted to the city's Water Division for approval before a backflow assembly is installed, and the city's cross-connection specialist inspects the installation.
