Concrete patio installation

Create a durable, low-maintenance space for grilling, dining and relaxing. Choose from plain or stamped concrete in a range of finishes.

Custom retaining walls

Retaining walls hold back soil on sloped lots, prevent erosion and add usable, level space to your yard. We build them to fit your property.

Pavers & natural stone

Pavers and natural stone add texture and character to patios, walkways and borders, and they're easy to repair if a section ever needs attention.

FAQ

Hardscaping questions, answered

Can you replace a leaning or collapsed retaining wall?

Yes. We tear out failing walls and build new block retaining walls in their place, with stairs where you need access between levels.

Should I choose concrete or pavers for my patio?

Both hold up well. Concrete, plain or stamped, makes a durable, low-maintenance slab. Pavers and natural stone add texture and pattern, and a damaged section can be lifted and replaced. We'll go over the options with you during your free estimate.

Do you build steps and walkways too?

Yes. We build paver and concrete steps, walkways and sidewalks, and tie them into your patio, walls and lawn.

Do I need a permit for a retaining wall in Washington?

It depends on the height and what the wall holds back. Under the residential building code Washington adopts, a wall up to 4 feet tall, measured from the bottom of the footing, generally doesn't need a permit unless it supports extra load such as a driveway, a slope or a building. Taller walls do, and some cities set lower limits, so check with your city or county building department before you build.
