Fencing in East Wenatchee: what to know

  • Front and side yards

    Within 10 feet of the front lot line, fences are limited to 48 inches, measured from the finished grade in front yards and from the road grade along side yards. Past that point, side-yard fences can be 6 feet.

  • Rear yards and posts

    Rear-yard fences can be up to 6 feet. Posts and decorative caps may rise up to 18 inches above the limit if they're spaced at least 6 feet apart.

  • Corners and driveways

    On corner lots, fences are capped at 48 inches from the road grade, and inside the sight triangles at intersections and driveway entrances, the city's visibility rules limit obstructions to 3 feet.

Can I build a 6-foot fence along an arterial?

On a double-frontage residential lot along a collector or arterial, yes, if the lot has no vehicle access from that road, there's a pedestrian-only gate, the fence meets the sight-distance rules and it's kept in good repair.

Do you install commercial fencing?
